Operation of the Magnets:
The large magnet plate consists of a support frame inside that is suspended over conveyed product stream. To ensure optimal removal of iron tramp, the receiving belt magnet is suspended at a height of 5 inch to 8 inches above product stream. The magnet is located in such a position that it can be easily cleaned. Additionally, it is operated in a belt area where integral parts of the conveyer do not get magnetized like the belting support plates or idler rollers. The reason behind this is, it can cause too much of wear and tear on the conveyer system. The collection pan is turned to clean the magnet. Tramp materials are retained in the pan and removed from magnet. The pan is emptied and re-installed at the back of the far side of the magnet.
